Guide

Ordering on vinted.hu to a forwarding address, step by step

Once your account works, buying on vinted.hu is a normal Vinted purchase with three differences: your customer ID has to be on the label, the parcel has to come by courier rather than to a locker, and the 2-day window to report a problem starts when the parcel reaches Budapest, not you.

Everything below is checked against Vinted’s Hungarian help pages (10 September 2026). Account not verified yet? Start with phone verification.

1. The address: your name, your ID, our street

Your Shipify panel has a “My address” page with the exact street, postcode and your customer ID. Add it to your Vinted profile once, before the first purchase — Vinted fixes the address at payment, and sellers distrust address changes afterwards.

The ID goes in the name field, right after your name. That line is what the courier prints and what we read when the parcel arrives. A parcel that reaches us without an ID cannot be matched to anyone, and may be refused.

If the form asks for a phone number, enter our warehouse number, +36 20 419 0170, which is also on the “My address” page, so the courier reaches the warehouse rather than you. If a confirmation code is sent to that number, e-mail or WhatsApp us and we will pass it on. This is only the delivery phone: the number that verifies your Vinted account stays your own.

Replace the name and ID with your own. The street and postcode are on the “My address” page of the panel.

2. Delivery: home delivery only

vinted.hu offers six integrated delivery services, and the seller decides which of them appear on a listing. We accept home delivery only. With every locker and pickup-point option the collection code goes to your app or phone, and we do not collect from lockers or pickup points — not even if you send us the code. The rule of thumb: pick the line that says házhozszállítás or a vevő címére (home delivery, to the buyer’s address).

So far every Vinted parcel at our warehouse has been clothing, brought to the door by Express One, one of Packeta’s home-delivery partners in Hungary. DPD and DHL Express home delivery reach the address the same way.

Option at checkout Type At our warehouse Note
Packeta – házhozszállítás („a vevő címére”) courier to address accepted Courier to a street address. So far every Vinted parcel at our warehouse has come to the door with Express One, one of Packeta’s home-delivery partners in Hungary. Packeta also offers pickup points and Z-BOX lockers under the same brand — pick the home-delivery line, not those. Vinted help
DPD – házhozszállítás courier to address accepted Courier to the buyer’s address — choose the address, not a DPD Pickup shop. Vinted’s summary page lists DPD as available only with its electronics inspection, so it may not appear on every listing. Vinted help
DHL Express – házhozszállítás courier to address accepted Home delivery — choose the address, not a DHL service point; size limit 120 × 60 × 60 cm. Vinted help
GLS – CsomagPont / csomagautomata locker / pickup point not accepted Locker and parcel-shop by default; Vinted shows GLS home delivery only for items sold with its electronics verification. If a listing does offer “GLS házhozszállítás”, that one is fine. Vinted help
FoxPost csomagautomata locker / pickup point not accepted Locker to locker. The collection code goes to the buyer’s app, not to the address. Vinted help
Sameday Easybox csomagautomata locker / pickup point not accepted Locker to locker, and the route Romanian and Greek sellers use most. Same problem: the code is yours, the locker is in Budapest. Vinted help

Seller offers lockers only? The seller chooses which options appear, so ask — the first phrase below does it in Hungarian. If they will not add home delivery, skip the listing: a locker parcel cannot reach us. Not sure what a listing offers? Ask us before you buy.

3. Paying in forint

Prices on vinted.hu are in Hungarian forint. At checkout Vinted adds a mandatory buyer-protection fee — generally 5% + 280 Ft — and the postage for the delivery option you chose. Accepted: all major credit and debit cards including prepaid cards, Vinted balance, Apple Pay (iOS app) and Google Pay — no PayPal.

Vinted says nothing about the card’s country, and our customers pay with ordinary foreign cards. If yours is refused, Vinted points you to the issuing bank; a prepaid card is an accepted fallback. Items from Polish, Romanian or Greek sellers carry a conversion fee of 1.2% or 3% on top.

4. Talking to sellers

Vinted is conversational: sellers answer questions, accept offers and bundle items. A short Hungarian message gets faster answers and fewer cancellations. Copy these.

Szia! Házhozszállítással, futárral tudod küldeni a megadott címre? Csomagautomatából nem tudom átvenni.
Hi! Can you send it by courier home delivery to the address given? I can’t collect from a locker.
Több terméket is vennék tőled — össze tudod csomagolni egy küldeménybe?
I’d buy several items from you — can you bundle them into one shipment?
Meg tudnád adni a pontos méreteket (mellbőség, hossz, derék)?
Could you give the exact measurements (chest, length, waist)?
Mikor tudod feladni?
When can you post it?
Köszönöm, megérkezett, minden rendben!
Thank you, it has arrived, all good!
Sajnos nem azt kaptam, ami a hirdetésben volt — a Vinteden keresztül jelzem.
Unfortunately I did not receive what was in the listing — I’ll report it through Vinted.

5. After delivery: the 2-day rule

Vinted’s buyer protection is yours — the order is on your account, and a parcel that never reaches us is refunded like any other. What changes with a forwarding address is timing: the window to report a problem usually closes before anyone has looked inside the parcel. Know that before the first one lands.

1

Delivery means our door

Vinted’s 2-day window opens when the courier marks the parcel delivered — to our Budapest address. It does not wait for the parcel to reach you.

2

Your panel shows it the same day

Each parcel is booked in under your ID with its weight. If you cannot see a parcel that Vinted says is delivered, tell us at once — a missing ID on the label is the usual reason.

3

We do not open parcels on arrival

Photo documentation (€2.00 per parcel) is taken when we pack your forward, if you ask for it. If you are collecting a haul, that is after Vinted’s window has closed — so the real check is before you pay: measurements, condition notes, extra photos from the seller.

4

What counts as “not as described”

Wrong size or colour to the listing, undisclosed damage, missing parts, counterfeit. Not liking it, or the size not fitting you, does not count — Vinted says so explicitly.

5

If you report a problem

Vinted refunds the price, the buyer-protection fee and the original postage once the seller has the item back. You pay the return postage and must post within five working days. To a Hungarian seller we send it back from the warehouse as an ordinary domestic forward — write to us as soon as the return is agreed. We do not post returns abroad.

Then let the rest of the haul collect — 30 days of storage are free — and forward everything as one box.

Something does not fit the guide?

A seller who only ships to lockers, a card the checkout will not take, a code sent to our warehouse number, a parcel marked delivered that is not in your panel, a return to send back — write before you guess, and send a screenshot. George answers in English and Hungarian.

Frequently asked questions

What do I write in the address fields on vinted.hu? +

Your full name followed by your Shipify customer ID in the name field, then the street, postcode and city exactly as shown on the “My address” page of your Shipify panel. If a phone number is required, use our warehouse number, +36 20 419 0170; if a confirmation code arrives on it, e-mail or WhatsApp us and we will pass it on. The ID is what lets us match the parcel to you; a parcel without it may be refused. Do not put the ID in the message to the seller instead — the courier prints the address, not the chat.

Which delivery option should I choose? +

Home delivery to a street address: on vinted.hu that is Packeta home delivery, DPD, DHL Express. We accept home delivery only. Avoid every locker and pickup-point option (GLS, FoxPost, Sameday Easybox) — the collection code goes to your phone, and we do not collect from lockers, even with the code. So far our Vinted parcels have all come to the door with Express One, one of Packeta’s home-delivery partners. If a seller offers lockers only, ask them to add home delivery or skip the listing.

Can I pay on vinted.hu with a foreign card? +

Vinted’s payment page says it accepts all major credit and debit cards including prepaid cards, Vinted balance, Apple Pay (iOS app) and Google Pay — no PayPal, and adds that not every method is available to every member. It says nothing about the card’s country. Our customers pay with ordinary foreign Visa and Mastercard cards; if a card is refused, Vinted’s own advice is to ask the issuing bank, and a prepaid card is an accepted alternative. Prices are in forint; your bank converts.

What is the buyer-protection fee? +

A mandatory fee added at checkout — generally 5% + 280 Ft on vinted.hu (10 September 2026) — which funds the refund if the item never arrives or is not as described. For items from Polish, Romanian or Greek sellers a currency-conversion fee of 1.2% or 3% also applies.

Do I need to write to sellers in Hungarian? +

It helps. Many sellers reply to English, but a short Hungarian message gets a faster answer and fewer cancellations. The six phrases above cover almost every exchange; your browser’s translation handles the rest.

How many days do I have to report a problem? +

2 calendar days from Vinted’s delivery notification, which is the day the parcel reaches our warehouse. After that the order completes and the money goes to the seller. We do not open parcels on arrival — photo documentation (€2.00) is taken when we pack your forward — so do your checking before you buy: measurements, condition notes and extra photos from the seller.

Can several items from one seller come as one parcel? +

Yes — use Vinted’s bundle feature, which combines up to 100 items from the same seller into one order with one label, often at a discount. Items from different sellers always arrive separately; that is what our consolidation is for.

What happens if I change the delivery address after paying? +

You cannot: Vinted fixes the delivery option and address at payment, and sellers treat post-purchase address changes as a known scam pattern. Set up your Shipify address in your Vinted profile before your first purchase.

Can you send a Vinted return back to the seller? +

To a Hungarian seller, yes: we post it from the warehouse as an ordinary domestic forward. You pay the return postage, as with any Vinted return, and it has to be posted within five working days, so write to us by e-mail or WhatsApp as soon as the return is agreed. If you arrange the postage yourself, Vinted asks for the tracking number and photos of the packed item and its label — order photo documentation (€2.00) with the return. We do not post returns to Polish, Romanian or Greek sellers.
